This session is to provide an overall understanding of the NFPA 70E, along with the latest changes and how they may affect your company's overall electrical safety program. Learn about significant changes such as; approach boundaries, PPE requirements, and more...

During this session we will also go into detail on the latest training requirements for qualified employees as well as OSHA enforcement of these standards. Attendees will gain a better understanding of the relationship with OSHA and NFPA 70E, as well as, key items that need to be addressed for the next three-year cycle of their electrical safety program.

Learn how to protect your employees from Arc Flash/Blast and other electrical hazards with proper assessments and hazard mitigation. Understand the link between OSHA, NFPA 70E and NFPA 70B and the impact these standards may have on your facility.

Learning Objective:

  • Define the latest changes in the NFPA 70E
  • Achieve an overall understanding of the relationship between OSHA and NFPA 70E.
  • Apply this knowledge to become compliant with OSHA and NFPA 70E.
  • Learn what is required of employers to train and qualify persons working on or near energized parts 50 volts or greater.

9:00am - Review of the AM Report on Health Concerns with LED and Area Lighting, Nick Chintala, Eaton (FREE)

LED Street and Area Lighting color temperature "Blue Light" content featured in recent media reports has raised concerns about the potential effects on health. News reports have sparked concerns by communities and street lighting decision makers are searching for guidance around the June report by the American Medical Association (AMA). The AMA report raised concerns resulting from conversions of high-pressure sodium (HPS) to LED street lighting. The presentation will offer lighting guidance around color temperature selection and outline the AMA report.

This course will provide a general overview of the 2015 IECC to help provide the student with the ability to locate general subjects, identify essential code components for design purposes and locate applicable tables for specific situations.

Utilizing building information modeling (BIM) to provide detailed estimates, 3D logistics planning, clash reporting, schedule animations, sequencing reports and safety plans, his expertise helps to enhance the quality and delivery of all projects. He works closely with the architect and design team, as well as the project team to reduce risk, enhance quality and deliver real results using the latest in construction technology.
